Our government client is seeking an APS 4 Mechanical Fitter to work on site. This role is looking to commence immediately for 2 months, fulltime (37.5hrs per week)
Main Responsibilities -Undertake general fitting and mechanical trade activities to ensure the quality and timely production of coins, medals medallions and tokens.
-Undertake the setup, adjustment and maintenance of plant and equipment associated with the production of coins and coin related products.
-Liaise with clients, both internal and external, and provide technical support as necessary.
-Assist in maintaining the records using basic computer packages and use computer to retrieve data relating to manufacturing records.
-Provide on-the-job training to apprentices and trade staff new to the area and participate in the department’s multi-skilling program.
-Ensure OHS and workplace environment standards within the area are achieved and maintained.
-Ensure that principles and practices of Quality, Continuous Improvement, Workplace Diversity and Participative work practices are followed.
You will need previous experience
-Demonstrated experience of preventative maintenance in a manufacturing environment
-Possess an appropriate trade qualification as a Fitter/Machinist or relevant professional qualification
-Sound understanding of the mechanical operations of plant and equipment and associated maintenance -practices and procedures
-Ability to interpret technical drawings and technical manuals
