About you
To be considered for this position you will have a Diploma in engineering or equivalent qualification. Ideally you will offer previous experience in structures inspection and management, or within a similar role, with a background in the highways business.
Your project planning, organisational and time management skills coupled with your ability to contribute to the preparation of operational budgets and financial information is essential to this role. In addition to this, you will have working knowledge and an understanding of OSH legislation and structures inspections and reporting.
Your effective communication skills will enable you to interact with people at all levels and build relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
About the role
Reporting to the Structures Manager, your duties will include, but are not limited to:
• Managing the delivery of planned structures inspections including: populating and updating of inspection schedule and cost forecasts.
•Managing the delivery of all structures inspections on the networks vie direct inspection, management of other consultants and coordination of any support services, including labour, plant and materials
•Providing and/or assisting the Structures Manager in the production of structures condition and inspection reports
•Attending to customer queries, advising project teams on the need for liaison and mitigation in structures inspections and projects.

Due to continued growth, Transfield Services currently has an opportunity for an experienced Weed Technician, working on our Garrison contract located at Fleet Base West (Garden Island) Rockingham, Western Australia. Responsible for effectively planning and undertaking weed control works and liaise with a variety of stakeholders to ensure effective methods are performed and monitored, key accountabilities for this position include: Develop and maintain a Weed Management Plan. Conduct Weed and Chemical Risk Assessments. Complete and maintain the Herbicide Usage Register. Monitor and mapping of weed distribution. Participate in meetings. Control a variety of weeds (noxious, environmental, local and agricultural). Ensure work schedules are completed in a safely and timely matter. Maintain and undertake regular maintenance to equipment. Organise and supervise Subcontractors and staff who may be employed to assist. Maintain up to date best practice control methods and research treatment strategies. Undertake travel to various Defence bases around the metro and regional areas, including remote locations. Undertake any other related duties as requested by the Grounds Manager.
To be considered for this position it is essential you meet the below criteria: Experience in the industry. Good working knowledge of equipment utilised in Herbicide applications. Current and valid First Aid Certificate Valid Australian ‘C’ class Driver’s License. Be able to travel as required, including overnight stays. Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel and Outlook. High level of communication and organisation skills. Must provide a Valid Police Clearance if successful with employment. Must be eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance. Provide proof of your Australian Citizenship (Australian Passport/Birth Certificate, Citizenship Letter).
