The Emergency Clinical Practice Consultant is accountable for the delivery of high quality nursing care that is consistent with the mission of the Modbury Hospital and the core values of the Nursing Department. Utilising your advanced clinical nursing knowledge, education, counselling and management skills, you will undertake conflict resolution and problem solving within the framework of your practice area. You will work within the role of the Rapid Assessment Team to ensure patient flowthrough, and undertake clinical leadership in the roles of Triage and Resus and Shift Coordinator. You will accept accountability for the outcomes of nursing practices for specific client groups in the Emergency Department and address inconsistencies between practice and policy. Modbury Hospital is a 178 bed fully accredited, progressive general public hospital serving the north-east suburbs of Adelaide. A teaching hospital of the University of Adelaide, Modbury Hospital has been servicing the community for over 30 years with dedication and pride.
You will be registered or eligible for registration as a Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, and hold or be eligible to hold a current practicing certificate. In addition you will hold a Graduate Diploma in an Acute Nursing Area; such as Emergency Nursing, High Dependency Nursing, Critical Care Nursing, Intensive Care Nursing, Coronary Care Nursing or equivalent experience. With effective leadership skills including highly developed skills in communication, problem solving, conflict resolution and negotiation, you will have past experience in leadership roles including the roles of Shift-coordinator, Triage and Resus or similar.
