As the Production Planner, you will be responsible for a broad range of product support activities including the creation and maintenance of the product bill of material, configuration baseline and production schedule. Key duties will include, but are not limited to: • Preparing project plans and schedules utilising customer scope of work documentation. • Preparing project resource curves, manpower histograms and productivity/production reviews. • Preparing, maintaining and reporting statuses on schedules and progress curves. • Ensuring project work breakdown structures are reflected in the project schedule. • Participating in vendor/contractor bid reviews. • Evaluating and reporting schedule deviations. As the ideal applicant, you will have: • Sound practical knowledge and experience in manufacturing capabilities, predominantly within a defence environment. • Professional qualifications in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, manufacturing engineering, production control or a recognised trade background. • Practical knowledge in the application of production business systems functionality against manufacturing requirements. • The ability to communicate and build relationships with people at varying levels of the organisation. • The ability to make independent judgements and decisions within circle of influence. This position is based South of Perth in Henderson and would require an individual who is able to travel to the location. As a Permit Controls Officer, you will be responsible for the coordination of hazardous work permits and systems for the site. Key duties will include but are not limited to: • Issuing permits for hot, confined space, abrasive blasting, painting and other ship building, repair and modification activities. • Producing and controlling the permit system for specific ship repair, modification and repair activities. • Ensuring that operational preparations, including process clearance and required isolations are being implemented at the worksite. • Ensuring that any specified additional precautions that needed to be taken during the work, including the use of safety equipment and PPE, are implemented at the worksite. • Liaising with the permit holder to ensure that the location and scope of work is fully understood, that hazards are identified and all necessary precautions taken.
